KPV
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val, CAS 67727-97-3) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) and constitutes the minimal pharmacophore for melanocortin receptor-independent anti-inflammatory activity. In intestinal epithelial and macrophage cultures it suppresses NF-kB nuclear translocation and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine expression without the MC1R pigmentation activity carried by full-length alpha-MSH. A structurally minimal probe with a defined receptor-independent mechanism. For laboratory research use only.
